Demonstration of DISK_REPAIR_TIME attribute of ASM diskgroup

In this video tutorial I demonstrate usage of DISK_REPAIR_TIME parameter by offlining an ASM disk and forcing ASM to drop the disk after specific period of time 

Create diskgrup newdg normal redundancy 

failgroup fg1 disk '/dev/sde1' name NEWDG_DISK1

failgroup fg2 disk '/dev/sdf1' name NEWDG_DISK2;

select group_number, name, state, type, total_mb, free_mb from v$asm_diskgroup;

srvctl status diskgroup -diskgroup newdg 

srvctl start diskgroup -diskgroup newdg -node oratest02,oratest03

alter diskgroup newset set attribute 'compatible.asm'='12.1';

alter diskgroup newdg offline disk NEWDG_DISK1;

alter diskgroup newdg set attribute 'disk_repair_time'='1m';

alter diskgroup newdg offline disk newdg_disk1 drop after 1m;

alter diskgroup newdg add failgroup f1 disk '/dev/sde1' name NEWDG_DISK1 force;
